Dr. Benson joined NCFP in 2005. She grew up in Olympia, Washington and attended University of Notre Dame for undergraduate degree. She went to University of Washington for medical school and completed residency in 2000 at Providence St Peter Family Practice Residency program in Olympia and is now board certified.
After residency, Dr. Benson worked in private practice in the Olympia area for 2 years. Then she moved to Okinawa, Japan with her husband, David who was physician in the US Navy (and now works at North Cascade Family Physicians). She worked at the US Naval hospital in Okinawa as a civilian physician for 3 years, returned to Washington and started working here July, 2005.
Her hobbies include running, cross country skiing, travel. Special interests in family medicine include adolescent medicine and sports medicine. She enjoys collaborating with patients to help them make informed decisions.
