David Benson's Portrait

Dr. Benson grew up on a wheat and pea farm in Bow, WA. He attended Burlington-Edison High School and Pacific Lutheran University. While at PLU, Dr. Benson earned a degree in Biology and minored in music. After serving for a year as a youth and music pastor in Puyallup, he went onto to attend medical school at the University of Washington.

Dr. Benson met his wife Jenny while completing his family medicine residency at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia and together they traveled to Okinawa, Japan and Oak Harbor with the Navy. After four years in the Navy, Dr. Benson spent a year at Swedish Hospital in Seattle completing a fellowship in high-risk obstetrics.

Obstetrics, sports medicine and chronic disease management make up Dr. Benson’s medical interests. His hobbies include spending time with his wife and son, running, biking, skiing, and playing tennis. He is also an avid violinist.
